Police Blotter: August 15, 2025

Friday, August 1

At 3:39 a.m., a Claremont Police Department officer spotted a car parked illegally near Mount Baldy Road and Mills Avenue and spoke to the driver, a 40-year-old Pomona man. A records check showed a misdemeanor Los Angeles County Sherrif’s Department warrant, and he was arrested and booked at the Claremont jail before being released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

Monday, August 4

A woman phoned Claremont police at 9:31 p.m. to report she had been raped at Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd. Officers responded, investigated, and arrested an Ontario man, 32, for felony rape, oral copulation, and forcible penetration with a foreign object. After a search, he was also charged with misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to CPD, booked, and held for court. He appeared at Pomona Superior Court on August 6 and was later released. At press time, an additional court date had not yet been set.

Tuesday, August 5

Police were called to the Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave., at 7:32 p.m. on reports of a man exposing himself. Arriving officers spoke with the suspect, a 66-year-old San Bernardino County man, and a records check revealed a misdemeanor warrant. While being  arrest, police allegedly found methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance was added to his charge list. He was transported to CPD, booked, and later released with a citation.

Wednesday, August 6

Police pulled over a 33-year-old Glendora man near Towne Avenue and Richbrook Drive at 2:27 a.m. for a vehicle code violation. After field sobriety tests he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, transported to CPD, booked, held for detoxification, and later released with a citation to appear in court.

Thursday, August 7

At 3:11 a.m., Claremont PD officers spoke to a man who had been looking through the window of a business in the 400 block of W. First Street. An initial records check came back with nothing. Officers then determined he was too intoxicated to care for himself and arrested him for misdemeanor public intoxication. Police eventually found the man had provided a false name, and was 43, from Oceanside, and had a felony Los Angeles County warrant. He was arrested for the warrant and for providing false ID to a peace officer, a misdemeanor. He was then booked at CPD then later transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to be held for court. He was moved to Men’s Central Jail on August 11. He is due back for a parole arraignment on August 26 at Central Arraignment Court in Los Angeles.

Friday, August 8

Police arrested a Pomona man, 61, who was walking in the road on the 700 block of W. Foothill Boulevard at 1:45 a.m. for being misdemeanor under the influence of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detox, and released with a citation.
