Police Blotter: December 1, 2023
Tuesday, November 21
At 10:02 p.m. a Claremont Police Department officer pulled over a driver on Towne Avenue near Foothill Boulevard for an equipment violation. The officer determined the driver, Pomona resident Jordan Perez, 27, was driving on a suspended license and impounded his car. During an inventory search police allegedly found methamphetamine and a pipe. A records check revealed that Perez was also allegedly involved in a burglary investigation. He was subsequently arrested for the suspended license and additionally charged with felony burglary. A parole hold was then obtained and he was transported to the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where he was held for court. A passenger in the vehicle, 36-year-old Pomona resident Miriam Baltazar Diaz, was also arrested, charged with misdemeanor possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. He was booked and later released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Wednesday, November 22
An officer stopped Kathleen Newman, 38, for a moving violation at 1:16 a.m. in front of Norms Restaurant, 807 S. Indian Hill Blvd. Police said she was driving on a suspended license, and a records check revealed she had a felony warrant out of El Monte. She was arrested for the warrant and the suspended license, and while in jail was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine, adding an additional felony charge of bringing narcotics into the jail. She was booked and later released on citations for the warrant, license suspension and the narcotics violation.
Thursday, November 23
Officers responded at 12:25 p.m. to Miramar and Padua avenues after receiving a call about a hit-and-run traffic collision. The victim followed the suspect until officers arrived and stopped him a short distance away. Police said the driver, Scott Feldhaus, 50, of Claremont, displayed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol, and after sobriety tests he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and causing a hit-and-run accident. He was booked, held for detoxification, and later released with a citation.
Friday, November 24
An officer responded to the Pomona Police Department at 1:48 p.m. after being alerted Pomona police had a man in custody who was wanted on a Claremont warrant. Pomonan Francisco Trinidad, 31, was subsequently transported to the Claremont jail where he was booked and held for court.
Saturday, November 25
At 10:25 a.m. an unknown male suspect drove his vehicle alongside a victim, who was walking on the sidewalk on Berkeley Avenue near Harrison Avenue. The suspect is alleged to have rolled down his window to get the victim’s attention and then displayed his erect penis. The victim threatened to call police and the suspect drove away. Police had no suspect identification. An investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, November 26
Officers responded to Mt. Baldy Road at Padua Avenue at 2:15 p.m. after getting a call about an injury traffic collision. Arriving officers located two cars with collision damage and said one driver had suffered unknown injuries. Police reported the other driver, Brianna Garivay, 25, of Anaheim, displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication, and she was arrested for felony DUI after performing field sobriety tests because the other driver was injured in the collision. While in custody Garivay allegedly damaged property in the CPD jail and was additionally charged with felony vandalism. She was booked, held for detoxification, and later released on bond.
At 3:13 p.m., officers were called to College Park, 126 S. College Ave., about a bicycle theft. They located the bicycle leaning up against the side of a nearby garage. Police then questioned several people at the home, including Michael Murrieta, 64, who allegedly confessed to stealing the bike. The bike was recovered and Murrietta was arrested for felony theft and taken to the Claremont jail, where he was booked and later released with a citation.
