Police Blotter: December 13, 2024

Wednesday, December 4

Claremont Police Department officers were called to the 300 block of Indian Hill Boulevard at 10:58 a.m. regarding two people fighting. Arriving officers determined a 36-year-old Upland man was the aggressor, and arrested him for felony domestic violence. He was then transported to Claremont jail where he was booked and held for court. He appeared at Pomona Superior Court December 6 and was later released.

Officers stopped Fontana resident David Sotomaya, 30, for moving and equipment violations at 11:45 p.m. near Harrison and Towne avenues in Pomona. After field sobriety tests he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, booked at CPD, held for detox, and later released with a citation.

 

Friday, December 6

Alta Loma resident Jessica Duronslet, 37, was pulled over at 2:18 a.m. for equipment violations at Towne Avenue and Richbrook Drive in Pomona. After field sobriety tests she was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, booked at CPD, then held for detox. She was later released with a citation.

At 3:20 p.m., Rio Gomez, 27, of Ontario, arrived at CPD for a procedural booking for a felony vehicular manslaughter charge. After booking he was released with a citation to appear December 18 at Pomona Superior Court. The booking stems from a fatal solo vehicle collision near Sixth Street and Amherst Avenue on June 14, 2023. Officers who responded found Gomez injured and his passenger deceased. After a stay at a local hospital, police filed a report with the LA County District Attorney’s office, and a warrant for Gomez’s arrest was issued.

 

Saturday, December 7

Rialto resident Amari Hardy, 30, was stopped for equipment and moving violations at 2:52 a.m. near the Towne Avenue exit of the 210 Freeway. After field sobriety tests he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI. He was then booked at CPD, held for detox, and later released with a citation.

At 8:10 p.m., police recognized a 34-year-old unhoused man at Super King Market, 436 Auto Center Dr., and stopped him for a records check, which turned up three Los Angeles County misdemeanor warrants. He was arrested, booked at CPD, and held in front of his December 9 appearance at Pomona Superior Court. He was released the following day.

 

Sunday, December 8

Police stopped Rancho Cucamonga resident Dina Hassan, 39, for an equipment violation near Bonita and Towne avenues at 1:41 a.m. After field sobriety tests she was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and booked at CPD, where she was held for detox then later released with a citation.

 

Monday, December 9

Officers stopped 47-year-old La Verne resident Corinne Schendel at about 2:24 a.m. for moving violations near Garey Avenue and Grove Street in Pomona. Following field sobriety tests she was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, booked at CPD, held for detox, and later released with a citation.
