Sunday, November 23
Claremont Police Department officers were pursuing a car for speeding when it collided with the center median near Foothill Boulevard and College Avenue at 1:24 a.m. Police said the driver, a 31-year-old Upland man, appeared intoxicated and field sobriety tests led to his arrest for misdemeanor DUI. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detoxification, and later released due to a medical issue.
Monday, November 24
Family disturbance calls led police to a residence in the 2200 block of Bonnie Brae Avenue at 9:08 a.m., where police determined a domestic violence incident had occurred and a 46-year-old Claremont woman was the main aggressor. She was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and transported to CPD, where she was booked and held for court. She posted bond later that day and was released in front of a November 26 Pomona Superior Court appearance.
Tuesday, November 25
A person called CPD at 4:32 p.m. to report $2,000 in cash and a credit card had been stolen from a rear housing unit in the 1100 block of Harvard Avenue. An investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, November 26
Claremont police investigated a car without a parking permit in the 1400 block of Morton Circle at 3:04 a.m. and discovered its license plate did not match the one on record. A check of the vehicle identification number revealed it had been reported stolen by Upland PD. Police later reunited the car with its owner.
Claremont police responded to a residential burglary alarm in the 100 block of W. San Jose Avenue at 4:27 a.m. Arriving officers said a glass window had been shattered and a desktop computer was stolen. The crime was captured on video, and police continue to investigate.
Thursday, November 27
Police responded to Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 10:28 p.m. after a caller said her boyfriend had assaulted her in front of her children. Arriving officers arrested a 27-year-old Inglewood man for felony domestic violence and misdemeanor child abuse. After being booked at the Claremont jail he was transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to be held for court. He was released December 2.
Police stopped a car for equipment and moving violations at Colby Circle and Santa Barbara Avenue at 2:23 a.m. A records check of the driver, a 30-year-old Claremont man, showed a suspended license for a previous DUI conviction. After field sobriety tests he was arrested again for misdemeanor DUI and driving on a suspended license, transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and released.
Saturday, November 29
Police said they saw a man lighting a methamphetamine pipe near Indian Hill Boulevard and American Avenue at 9:35 p.m. Officers allege the 24-year-old Claremont man was holding the pipe during questioning and determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance. A records check revealed a misdemeanor Los Angeles County warrant. A search of his belongings allegedly turned up meth. The man was arrested for the warrant, and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful paraphernalia, then transported to Claremont PD where he was booked and released with a citation.
