Saturday, January 24
Claremont Police Department officers stopped a 35-year-old Ontario man for moving violations near Foothill Boulevard and Garey Avenue at 10:04 p.m. Following field sobriety tests, he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and driving on a suspended license, transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detoxification, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Monday, January 26
Police responded to 7:03 p.m. calls about two people fighting on the 100 block of N. Indian Hill Boulevard. Arriving officers spoke to the parties and arrested a 37-year-old Upland man for felony domestic violence. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and later transferred to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles to await a court appearance. He was released January 28.
Police attempted to stop a cyclist for equipment violations near Sumner Avenue and Foothill Boulevard at 9:34 p.m., but the 39-year-old Pomona man allegedly continued riding. Officers eventually detained him, and a search allegedly yielded a methamphetamine pipe. He was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, and resisting or delaying a peace officer, all misdemeanors. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.
Police stopped a car for equipment violations on the 1000 block of W. Foothill Boulevard at 11:13 p.m. After field sobriety tests they arrested the driver, a 36-year-old La Verne man, for misdemeanor DUI. During a search of the car police allegedly found fentanyl and a methamphetamine pipe, which the man said were his, adding misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of unlawful paraphernalia to his charge list. A records check his passenger, a 31-year-old Pomona woman, showed a misdemeanor warrant from La Verne, and a search allegedly yielded Xanax. She was arrested for the warrant and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Both were transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and later released with citations. The driver was held for detox.
Tuesday, January 27
A person called police to report their partner had pushed them inside a home in the 800 block of Lancaster Drive at 12:15 p.m. Arriving officers spoke to the parties and arrested a 21-year-old Claremont woman for misdemeanor domestic violence. She was transported to the Claremont jail for booking and later released after posting bail. She appeared at Pomona Superior Court on January 29.
Wednesday, January 28
Police ran a records check on a 57-year-old man at 12:12 p.m. on the 300 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard that revealed felony warrants out of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. He was arrested, transported to CPD, booked, and later taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside. He was released February 2 after a court appearance.
Friday, January 30
At 9:15 p.m., CPD responded to Rocky’s Liquor, 1045 W. Foothill Blvd., on reports of a robbery. An employee said two men wearing all black fled with alcohol worth an unknown amount. An investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, February 1
Police stopped a car for moving violations at 12:05 a.m. near Foothill Boulevard and Falcon Street in Pomona. After field sobriety tests they arrested the driver, a 37-year-old man from Diamond Bar, for misdemeanor DUI. He was then transported to the Claremont jail, where he allegedly refused to comply with requests for a chemical sample. After police obtained a warrant, he refused again, police said, which led to an additional charge of misdemeanor violation of a court order. He was booked, held for court, and released February 3.
A person called police at 12:09 p.m. to report their unit at Extra Space Storage, 711 S. Mills Ave., had been broken into, resulting in losses totaling $2,000. Police continue to investigate.
Claremont police pulled over a driver for equipment violations near Base Line Road and the 210 Freeway at 3:34 p.m. A records check of the driver, a 26-year-old Colton man, and a male passenger, 30, and also from Colton, revealed misdemeanor warrants, and they were arrested. A search of the car allegedly turned up a nitrous oxide tank, which was claimed by another passenger, a 27-year-old Fontana man, who was arrested for misdemeanor possession of nitrous oxide. All were transported to CPD, booked, and released with citations.
