Police Blotter: January 10, 2025

Monday, December 16, 2024

A person walked into the lobby of the Claremont Police Department, 570 W. Bonita Ave., shortly after midnight to report a rape. Following an investigation, police arrested a 49-year-old Claremont man at 2:01 p.m. for felony domestic violence, kidnapping, and rape, and misdemeanor false imprisonment and interfering with an emergency call. The man was booked at CPD and held for court. He was released December 17 after posting $100,000 bond, and was due to appear at Pomona Superior Court December 18.

La Verne police called Claremont PD at 12:49 p.m. to inform them they had a 46-year-old unhoused man in their custody who had a misdemeanor Claremont warrant. CPD took custody of the man, booked him, and released him with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

 

Thursday, December 19

Officers pulled over 38-year-old Corona resident Matthew Moore for moving violations at 1:47 a.m. near the intersection of Richbrook Drive and Towne Avenue in Pomona. A records check showed he had two misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrants. Moore was arrested, booked at CPD, and later released with a citation.

Tuesday, December 24

Police were called to College Park, 100 S. College Ave., to break up a fight at 2:31 p.m. Arriving officers recognized two people from previous encounters and determined one, a 45-year-old Pomona man, was the aggressor. He was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and violating a court order and booked at CPD. He was later moved to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles, where he was held for court. He was released January 4, and is due back at Pomona Superior Court on January 28.

Wednesday, December 25

At 8:37 p.m., police responded to a solo vehicle accident near College Avenue and Green Street. Police questioned Michael Sanchez, 28, of Rancho Cucamonga, and after field sobriety tests arrested him for misdemeanor DUI. He was booked at CPD, held for detox, and later released with a citation.

 

Tuesday, December 31

On December 19, a 39-year-old unhoused man on parole came into CPD, 570 W. Bonita Ave., to register as a sex offender, but was unable to complete the process, according to police. On December 31, police went to the Claremont Lodge, 736 S. Indian Hill Blvd., to conduct a parole compliance check and determined the man had violated his parole. The man was arrested at 12:18 p.m. for a sex registry violation and parole violation, both felonies. Police also allegedly found a cocaine pipe on him, adding possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, to his charge list. After booking at CPD he was transferred to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles and held for court. He was moved to Twin Towers Correctional Facility on January 1, where he’s being held in front of a January 14 appearance at Pomona Superior Court.

Wednesday, January 1, 2025

Police conducted a welfare check on Sergio Soto, a 32-year-old Pomona man, at 8:43 a.m. near Foothill Boulevard and Towne Avenue because they believed he was under the influence. A records check revealed a misdemeanor warrant from LA County. He was arrested, booked at CPD, and released with a citation.

Friday, January 3

Police pulled over a motorist for equipment and vehicle code violations at 1:44 a.m. near Foothill Boulevard and Mountain Avenue. During the stop, officers spoke with the passenger, 28-year-old Travon McNeil, of Los Angeles, and a records check showed he had two misdemeanor warrants, one from CPD and another from San Bernardino County. McNeil was subsequently arrested and booked at CPD. He was cited for the San Bernardino County warrant and held for court on the CPD warrant. He was released on bond on January 6 and is due back in court on January 15.
