Police blotter: January 23, 2026

Sunday, January 11
Claremont Police Department officers responded to the Metrolink station, 200 W. First St., at 4:57 p.m. on a report of criminal threats. Arriving officers arrested a 41-year-old Claremont man for misdemeanor possession of unlawful paraphernalia, a methamphetamine pipe, and transported him to the Claremont jail, where he was booked and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Monday, January 12
Claremont police received a 7:07 p.m. call reporting tools valued at $6,000 were taken from a truck in the 700 block of W. San Jose Avenue between 5 p.m. January 9 and 4 a.m. January 12. An investigation is ongoing.
Police questioned a 48-year-old Ontario man outside the Claremont Helen Renwick Library, 208 N. Harvard Ave., at 11:49 p.m. A records check revealed a misdemeanor Claremont PD warrant and two misdemeanor warrants from San Bernardino County. During his arrest, police allegedly found a methamphetamine pipe, adding misdemeanor possession of unlawful paraphernalia to his charge list. He was arrested, transported to jail, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.
Tuesday, January 13
Officers responded to Towne Avenue and Scripps Drive at 5:47 a.m. after receiving calls about suspicious persons. Police questioned two Pomona men, 36 and 38. A records check of the 38-year-old revealed a misdemeanor Los Angeles County warrant, and he was arrested. A search of the 36-year-old allegedly turned up methamphetamine, prompting his arrest for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. They were subsequently transported to the Claremont jail for booking, where police allegedly found the 36-year-old to be in possession of an ID and a Social Security card that were not his, adding misdemeanor appropriation of lost property to his charges. Both were released with citations.
Officers responded to a burglary alarm in the 1500 block of Marjorie Avenue at 1:17 p.m. At 1:44 p.m., police noticed a nearby residence had its door broken. Officers said about $25,000 in jewelry was stolen from the second residence. The first residence did not report property loss. Investigations into both residential burglaries are ongoing.
Wednesday, January 14
Police were called to investigate a burglary at a building in the 100 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard at 8:23 a.m. The caller stated an unknown suspect broke into the building’s lobby sometime between 12:48 and 1:11 a.m. and stole a Nishiki Pueblo bicycle valued at $300. An investigation is ongoing.
Claremont police responded to the 100 block of N. Mountain Avenue at 8:41 a.m. after a caller reported a man was sleeping outside their home. Police performed a records check of the 56-year-old Pasadena man, which revealed a felony Los Angeles County warrant. He was arrested, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.
Thursday, January 15
Police responded to a 6:47 p.m. call about a suspicious man near the Olson Housing project, 1030 W. Foothill Blvd. Arriving officers ran a records check of the suspect, which revealed misdemeanor CPD and San Berardino County warrants and two Riverside County felony warrants. He was arrested, transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and later transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside to be held for court. He was due to appear at Indio Larson Justice Center on Wednesday.
Saturday, January 17
A homeowner in the 1800 block of Rosemount Avenue phoned police at 8:40 p.m. to report jewelry and personal items were taken between noon and 7 p.m. An investigation is ongoing.
Sunday, January 18
Police responded to a 7:37 p.m. domestic violence call at a residence in the 2100 block N. Mills Avenue. Arriving officers spoke with the victim and arrested a 50-year-old Claremont man for felony domestic violence. He was transported to CPD, booked, and held for court before being released on bond January 21. He’s due to appear in Pomona Superior Court on February 10.
Monday, January 19
A person called CPD at 4:49 p.m. to report their house in the 500 block of Scottsbluff Drive had been broken into sometime between 11 a.m. January 16 and 4:31 p.m. January 19. Police report no items were stolen. An investigation is ongoing.
