Police blotter: July 11, 2025

Friday, June 20
Claremont Police Department officers were called to Claremont Place, 120 W. San Jose Ave., at 3:01 p.m. by a resident reporting stolen credit cards. After an investigation of the victim’s financial records, police identified and arrested a 39-year-old Temple City woman on June 30, and charged her with felony burglary, and misdemeanor fraudulent use of an access card and elder abuse. She was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

Monday, June 30
Police responded to the 800 block of Huron Place at 8:22 a.m. and spoke with a 37-year-old man from Los Angeles and a 34-year-old Claremont woman. They determined a domestic violence incident had occurred and arrested the man for felony domestic violence. A records check revealed he was on parole, adding a felony parole violation to his charge list. A records check of the woman showed a misdemeanor warrant, prompting her arrest. Both were transported to CPD and booked. The woman was released with a citation. The man was held for court and released July 8 after posting bond.

Tuesday, July 1
Claremont police responded to Sixth Street and Yale Avenue at 4:10 a.m. on calls about a car colliding with a curb and two trees. Arriving officers administered field sobriety tests to the driver, an 18-year-old Upland man, who was then arrested for DUI and DUI while underage, both misdemeanors. He was transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and released with a citation.

Wednesday, July 2
At 2:07 p.m., CPD officers were called to the 800 block of W. Bonita Avenue and spoke with a 63-year-old Claremont man who police later found was barred from the location. Police arrested the man for misdemeanor trespassing, transported him to CPD, and then booked and released him with a citation.

Claremont police were called to Vons, 550 E. Base Line Rd., at 2:21 p.m. on reports of a man trying to open car doors in the parking lot. Arriving officers located the man driving nearby, pulled him over, and arrested him for felony attempted burglary. During the arrest police allegedly found methamphetamine in his car and a meth pipe in his possession, leading to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia being added to his charges. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

Thursday, July 3
Police questioned a 27-year-old West Covina man and a 23-year-old woman from Claremont at 7:55 p.m. at the former Greyhound bus station, 888 S. Indian Hill Blvd., after receiving reports of two people starting a fire at the location. The woman was arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, a methamphetamine pipe. The man was arrested for misdemeanor being under the influence of a controlled substance and for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. Both were transported to CPD, booked, and released with citations.

Friday, July 4
Claremont police stopped a 54-year-old Pomona man who was riding a bicycle for moving violations at 4:43 a.m. near Foothill Boulevard and Regis Avenue. Police said the man was under the influence of a controlled substance, and arrested him on the misdemeanor charge. A search allegedly found a methamphetamine pipe, adding misdemeanor possession of unlawful paraphernalia to his charges. He was transported to CPD, booked, held for detox, and released with a citation.

Claremont Police were called to assist the United States Forest Service with processing a number of people its officers had detained for allegedly setting off fireworks near Evey Canyon Trailhead, 5100 Mt. Baldy Rd. Claremont officers arrested a 20-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man for misdemeanor possession of less than 25 pounds of unaltered fireworks. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
