Police Blotter: March 13, 2026

Sunday, March 1

Claremont Police Department officers were called to Trader Joe’s, 475 W. Foothill Blvd., at 3:37 p.m. by a person alleging a purse valued at $650 had been stolen while shopping. An investigation is ongoing.

Claremont police responded to Wheeler Park, 626 Vista Dr., at 11:20 p.m. on reports of a suspicious car. Arriving officers allegedly saw a passenger hanging off a car while it was moving, prompting a stop. After field sobriety tests police arrested the driver, a 19-year-old from Pomona, for misdemeanor underage DUI. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detoxification, and released with a citation. The passenger was released at the scene.

 

Monday, March 2

Reports of a woman walking in the middle of the street and yelling near Arrow Highway and College Avenue prompted a 7:56 p.m. police response. Arriving officers determined the 37-year-old from Harbor City was under the influence of a controlled substance, and arrested her for the misdemeanor. She was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detox, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

 

Wednesday, March 4

Police responded to a report of an attempted car burglary near Carnegie Avenue and Taylor Drive at 9:39 a.m. Officers report the driver’s side door handle had been destroyed. An investigation is ongoing.

 

Thursday, March 5

Claremont Colleges Campus Safety Department officers called CPD at 6:46 a.m. regarding a trespasser in the 500 block of N. College Way. Arriving officers questioned the 60-year-old Pomona man and learned he had previously been advised by campus safety not to return. He was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing and transported to the Claremont jail, where he allegedly admitted to having methamphetamine on him, adding misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance to his charge list. He was booked and released with a citation.

A resident phoned police at 5:22 p.m. to report a bicycle valued at $1,000 had been stolen from their garage between 12:30 and 6:21 a.m. Police are investigating.

 

Saturday, March 7

Police were dispatched to Mountain Avenue and Base Line Road at 10:39 p.m. on reports of a two car crash. Arriving officers determined a 19-year-old Fontana man was at fault, and a records check revealed a felony warrant from San Bernardino County and that he was driving without a license. After field sobriety tests he was arrested for felony DUI, the warrant, and misdemeanor driving without a license. He was transported to the Claremont jail, booked, held for detox, and later transported to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.
