Sunday, March 9
Claremont Police Department officers spotted a man pushing a shopping cart near Foothill Boulevard and Regis Avenue at 3:45 p.m., in violation of the state’s business and professions code. A records check of the 64-year-old homeless man showed two misdemeanor San Bernardino County warrants, and he was arrested, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Monday, March 10
Police responded to a 4:44 p.m. call from the former Greyhound bus depot at 888 S. Indian Hill Blvd. There they spoke with Pomona resident Anthony Coleman, 42, and said they saw a methamphetamine pipe in his possession. A search allegedly turned up what police believed to be methamphetamine. He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
Tuesday, March 11
After a 12:36 a.m. call, police responded the 600 block of Auto Center Drive and spoke with Lisa Blanco, 28, of Pomona. A records check showed she had three misdemeanor warrants, from CPD, San Jose PD, and San Bernardino County. She was arrested, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.
Wednesday, March 12
Claremont police received a 4:30 p.m. call about a man trespassing in the 600 block of N. Mountain Ave. Arriving officers questioned Pomona resident Demis Haile Maskel, 67. After the caller signed a private person’s arrest form, Maskel was arrested for misdemeanor trespassing, transported to the Claremont jail, booked, and released with a citation.
Thursday, March 13
Police were called to the 300 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard at 4:54 a.m. on reports of a woman refusing to leave the area. Arriving officers questioned Rialto resident Sasha Edwards, 34, whom they say displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. A search allegedly turned up methamphetamine, and she was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. She was then transported to CPD, booked, held for detoxification, and released with a citation.
Friday, March 14
Claremont police responded to the 600 block of W. San Jose Avenue at 4 p.m. after receiving calls about a woman screaming and threatening people at a business. An employee said the woman, 27-year-old Los Angeles resident Heaven Boyd, had threatened her with physical harm. Boyd was arrested for felony criminal threats, transported to the CPD jail, booked, and after CPD obtained a parole hold for a previous robbery conviction, was held for court. She was transferred to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on March 15 and appeared at Pomona Superior Court March 18.
Sunday, March 16
At 9:28 a.m., Claremont police questioned a 30-year-old homeless man at an encampment along the railroad tracks near Cambridge Avenue. The man, who had previously been advised to stay away from the area, was then arrested for trespassing on railroad property and trespassing on posted property, both misdemeanors. He was then transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
An employee at a business in the 1000 block of W. Foothill Boulevard called police at 4:14 p.m. to report a theft, and provided a description of the thief and the direction in which he was headed. Arriving officers located a 65-year-old homeless man nearby, who was identified by the employee as the alleged thief. He was arrested for misdemeanor shoplifting, transported to the CPD jail, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.
