Wednesday, March 12
Claremont Police Department officers responded to a call for service in the 900 block of W. Arrow Highway at 10:26 p.m. regarding a 34-year-old Pomona woman said to be violating a domestic violence restraining order. Arriving officers ran a records check, which confirmed the woman was in violation of the court order. They then attempted to arrest her, but said she failed to comply and initiated a fight, leading to one officer sustaining minor injuries. After being detained she was charged with a misdemeanor restraining order violation, misdemeanor battery on a peace officer, and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer, a felony. She was transported to the CPD jail, booked, and later taken to a local hospital due to a medical issue. After being released from the hospital on March 17, CPD arrested her and returned her to the Claremont jail, where she was booked and held for court. She appeared at Pomona Superior Court on March 19, 20, and 21, was transferred to Lynwood’s Century Regional Detention Facility on March 23, and is due back in court April 4.
Tuesday, March 18
Police arrested a 36-year-old homeless man in the 200 block of W. Foothill Boulevard at 2:51 a.m. after a records check showed a misdemeanor Los Angeles County warrant. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Officers responded to the 900 block of Harrison Avenue at 1 p.m. to question 48-year-old Claremont resident Elliot Graham, after a Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center representative told police they suspected he had struck an elderly person in the eye on March 17. Police arrested Graham for misdemeanor elder abuse and transported him to the Claremont jail, where he was booked and released with a citation to appear in court.
Police stopped North Hollywood resident Ulises Martinez Galvan, 30, for vehicle code violations at 9:35 p.m. in the 1700 block of N. Towne Avenue. After field sobriety tests, he was arrested for misdemeanor DUI, transported to the Claremont jail, booked, detoxified, and later released with a citation.
Wednesday, March 19
Claremont police responded to calls about a woman checking for unlocked car doors in the 800 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard at 9:03 p.m. and spoke with a 28-year-old homeless woman. A search allegedly turned up a methamphetamine pipe, and she was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation to appear in court.
Thursday, March 20
At 3:18 a.m., police spoke with a 58-year-old homeless man near Foothill and Claremont boulevards. A records check showed a misdemeanor Pomona PD warrant, and he was arrested, transported to CPD, and booked. Pomona police arrived later and took custody of the man.
Claremont police responded to an 11:55 a.m. call from a man reporting he had been assaulted by a woman at College Park, 100 S. College Ave. Arriving officers spoke with the man and the 43-year-old woman, who allegedly admitted she had hit him. She was then arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence, transported to CPD, and booked. She was held for court before being released on bond, and appeared at Pomona Superior Court on March 24.
Friday, March 21
An employee of a business in the 200 block of S. Indian Hill Boulevard called police at 10 a.m. to report someone had stolen cigarettes and a lighter and threatened her before leaving. Arriving officers watched footage of the incident and later arrested 35-year-old Los Angeles resident Natasha Gray, who was identified by the employee, for felony robbery. Gray was transported to CPD, booked, and held for court. She appeared at Pomona Superior Court on March 25.
