Friday, May 2
Claremont police report a 35-year-old Pomona man who had been refused service at a business in the 400 block of W. Foothill Boulevard the day prior walked into the CPD lobby at 570 W. Bonita Ave. at 11:20 a.m. and made threatening remarks about the business owner. Police then phoned the business owner, who said he wanted to press charges against the man. The man was subsequently arrested for felony criminal threats, booked at CPD, and held for court. He was released after a May 7 appearance at Pomona Superior Court.
Saturday, May 3
Claremont police responded to a 2:18 p.m. call from Los Angeles PD reporting they had a 32-year-old Pomona man with a felony Claremont warrant in their custody. Claremont officers then picked the man up and transported him to CPD jail, where he was booked and held for court. He was released after a May 5 Pomona Superior Court appearance and is due back before a judge on June 4.
Monday, May 5
Police were called to Motel 6, 840 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 8:13 p.m. by an employee claiming a woman hit him after he advised her that she could not be there. Arriving officers found the 39-year-old La Verne woman, who allegedly resisted attempts to detain her, leading to her arrest for resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer. A subsequent search allegedly turned up methamphetamine, adding misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance to her charge list. She was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
Wednesday, May 7
Officers were called to Indian Hill Boulevard and American Avenue at 12:35 a.m. regarding a man laying in the intersection covering his face. Police arrived and attempted to speak with the 58-year-old Pomona man, but he allegedly ignored them before attempting to punch officers. Police then restrained him, and he was subsequently arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer, both misdemeanors. He was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
A Bank of America employee called police at 11 a.m. to report a fraud in progress at 339 Yale Ave. Arriving officers spoke to a 21-year-old Rancho Cucamonga woman, who they said was attempting to deposit checks without the signatory’s consent. A subsequent search of her vehicle allegedly turned up nine fraudulent checks. She was arrested for forgery and burglary, both felonies, booked at CPD, and was later released with a citation.
Saturday, May 10
A call about a dispute brought police to the 400 block of W. Bonita Avenue at 1:20 a.m., where they spoke with the caller, who said her ex-boyfriend had kicked in her home’s front door, taken her phone, and damaged items in the house before leaving. She provided a description, and officers searched and found the 32-year-old Fontana man’s vehicle, and later located him near Stanford and Grinnell drives after he called Claremont police to surrender. He was arrested for felony vandalism, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
