Police Blotter: May 23, 2025

Sunday, May 11

Claremont Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of E. Foothill Boulevard at 2:23 p.m. after receiving reports of a disturbance. There they spoke with two people in a dating relationship, and after an investigation arrested a 19-year-old man for misdemeanor domestic violence. He was transported to CPD, booked, and held for court before being released on bond the following day.

Monday, May 12

Police received an 8:59 a.m. call reporting a cellphone had been stolen. Police and the victim tracked the phone to Harrison and Harvard avenues, and arriving officers searched a 28-year-old Montclair man, who allegedly had the victim’s phone and a methamphetamine pipe in his possession. He was arrested for misappropriation of lost property and possession of unlawful paraphernalia, misdemeanors, then transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

 

Tuesday, May 13

Police were called to the former Greyhound bus stop, 888 S. Indian Hill Blvd., at 4:23 p.m. following reports of people using drugs. Arriving officers searched a 35-year-old Upland woman and allegedly found a meth pipe and a switchblade. She was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and of a switchblade, both misdemeanors, transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.

 

Wednesday, May 14

CPD officers arrived at a residence in the 600 block of McKenna Street at 8:15 a.m. to follow up on a child abuse investigation that began in April. There they arrested a 19-year-old man for felony rape and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. He was subsequently transported to CPD, booked, and held for court. He bonded out later that day and was arraigned in Pomona Superior Court on May 16.

 

Friday, May 16

Police conducted a 1:19 a.m. welfare check of a Perris man, 44, behind ampm, 701 E. Foothill Blvd. After allegedly determining he was under the influence of a controlled substance and finding a felony parole violation warrant out of San Bernardino County, he was arrested for the warrant and being under the influence of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, transported to CPD, and booked. He was then transferred to West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, where he was held in front of a May 27 virtual appearance for post-release community supervision.

A resident called police at 1:48 p.m. to report four men were burglarizing their home in the 100 block of Amarillo Drive. The suspects fled by car before police arrived, but minutes later were involved in a traffic collision near Base Line Road and Padua Avenue that injured the driver of the other vehicle. Following the crash the burglary suspects got out of their car and fled on foot. Neighboring police agencies aided in the subsequent search, but the suspects were not found. The four men are wanted on charges of felony burglary and felony hit and run. The stolen items were found in the suspects’ getaway car and returned to their owner. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call CPD at (909) 399-5421.

Sunday, May 18

Police responded to a 7:15 p.m. call about a woman loitering at a residence in the 100 block of W. San Jose Avenue. Arriving officers attempted to speak with her, but she fled on foot. Police eventually caught up with the 23-year-old from Thermal, California, and arrested her for misdemeanor resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer. She was transported to CPD, booked, and released with a citation.
