Tuesday, October 22
Claremont Police Department officers responded to a 7:47 a.m. call from Claremont Colleges Campus Safety regarding a man trespassing at the Pomona College dormitories in the 200 block of E. First Street. Police arrived, questioned the 25-year-old unhoused man, and arrested him for misdemeanor trespassing. A search allegedly yielded a meth pipe, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia was added to his charges. The man was taken to CPD jail, booked, and released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
At 10:25 p.m., police at the Claremont Packing House parking structure, 470 W. First St., recognized a man who had a misdemeanor Claremont warrant out for his arrest. They arrested Upland resident Ruben Lerma, 36, booked him at CPD jail, and released him with a citation to appear in court.
Wednesday, October 23
Police responded to a 12:31 p.m. report from Claremont Colleges Campus Safety regarding a trespassing in progress near College Avenue and Second Street. Arriving officers spoke with a 27-year-old unhoused man who had been advised not to be in the area, then arrested him for misdemeanor trespassing. He was booked at CPD and released with a citation.
At 8:22 p.m., police responded to a call from a person reporting hearing noise in their home in the 4200 block of Piedmont Mesa Drive. Arriving officers found a 30-year-old unhoused woman in the home and arrested her for felony residential burglary. She was then booked at CPD and held for court before being released the following day with an October 25 date in Pomona Superior Court, Department A.
Friday, October 25
Officers reported hearing yelling at 4:45 a.m. in the 200 block of Yale Avenue and questioned two people. Police allege a domestic violence incident had occurred and arrested a 36-year-old Claremont man for felony domestic violence and booked him at CPD where he was held for court. He was released October 28 and appeared at Pomona Superior Court, Department A on October 29.
Police questioned Rosemead resident Adriel Macias, 29, as he drove up to a CPD DUI checkpoint in the 1500 block of Monte Vista Avenue at 5:22 p.m. After field sobriety tests, Macias was arrested for misdemeanor driving under the influence and transported to CPD jail. There, he was booked, detoxed, and released with a citation to appear in court.
Saturday, October 26
Police responded to a 9:06 p.m. report of an active fire near Stater Bros, 1055 W. Foothill Blvd. Arriving officers allegedly saw the 25-year-old unhoused man they arrested October 22 for trespassing at Pomona College attempting to light fires nearby on Foothill Boulevard in Pomona, and arrested him for misdemeanor arson. The man was taken to CPD, booked, and later released with a citation to appear at Pomona Superior Court.
Sunday, October 27
Police arrived in the 100 block of First Street at 12:20 p.m. after getting a call about a fight in progress. Officers spoke with two people involved and, after learning that they were in a dating relationship, determined that the 45-year-old Pomona man was the aggressor, leading to his arrest for misdemeanor domestic battery. The man was taken to CPD, booked, and later released due to a medical issue.
Monday, October 28
CPD received a 4:52 p.m. call about a man masturbating behind Shell gas station, 747 S. Indian Hill Blvd. Arriving officers allegedly witnessed him masturbating, and the 67-year-old unhoused man was arrested for misdemeanor indecent exposure, booked at CPD, and held for court. He appeared at Pomona Superior Court, Department A on Wednesday, and was subsequently transported to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.
