Claremont Police Department officers were called to the 2100 block of Grand Avenue at 7:30 a.m. on reports of a man exposing himself. Arriving officers spoke with the caller, who identified the suspect. They then arrested the 30-year-old unhoused man for misdemeanor indecent exposure and booked him at CPD, where he was held in front of a November 22 Pomona Superior Court appearance. He was released after his arraignment and is due back in court January 14, 2025.
Police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of S. Mills Avenue at 9:50 a.m. Family members said a 42-year-old woman had struck an elderly family member. About 6 p.m., an employee at a business in the 600 block of W. Foothill Boulevard called police to report a man had been causing a disturbance inside the location, but had fled. The employee provided a description of the man’s car, and officers caught up Covina resident Brian Borland, 35, near the intersection of Foothill and Claremont boulevards. After field sobriety tests he was arrested for DUI and driving without a license, both misdemeanors. He was then booked at CPD, held for detoxification, and released with a citation. But after learning his car had been impounded, police say Borland became irate, refused to leave, and kicked the station’s pedestrian door, damaging it. He was then arrested again, this time for felony vandalism. After booking he was released with a second citation.
