On September 17, Delano resident Robert Morales, 26, and Rachel Hingle, 29, of Van Nuys, were asked to leave the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 555 W. Foothill Blvd. After they returned the following day to retrieve something from a room, police were called as hotel employees believed the pair were using fraudulent means to gain entry. When officers arrived, the pair ran. Morales was found at Rev’d Up Coffee and Classics, 212 W. Foothill Blvd., but again he took off on foot. Police gave chase, and when they caught up to him a struggle ensued, and he allegedly injured an officer. After being arrested at 2:38 p.m., a search allegedly turned up narcotics, baggies, a scale, and ammunition, which, as a convicted felon, he was barred from carrying. He was arrested for resisting arrest, possession for sale of narcotics, and being a felon in possession of ammunition, all felonies. Hingle was found hiding at a nearby business. She was arrested after a records check turned up a misdemeanor warrant. Both were booked at CPD. Hingle was subsequently released with a citation. Morales was held for court, where he received a 10 day jail sentence on September 19 and was moved to Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles on September 21. He appeared in court September 23 and is due to be released Friday, September 27.
