Police chase down suspects for public intoxication offenses

It was a busy week for police dealing with customers from Claremont’s Piano Piano, located at 555 W. Foothill Blvd.

Police responded to the dueling piano bar around 1:50 a.m. on Friday, February 24, regarding 2 men causing a disturbance. The men had left prior to the police’s arrival, but were spotted running south on Towne Avenue. When they saw police approaching the men jumped the fence of a residence on Towne, north of Briarcroft Road. A loud splash immediately followed as one man accidentally landed in a backyard swimming pool. Kevin Coon, 23, of Alta Loma and Christopher Daniel, 21, of Rancho Cucamonga, were both detained and arrested for being drunk in public.

On February 26 another man was arrested near Piano Piano after he was found urinating in a bush. Though police driving by the bar witnessed the incident, Tomas Orozco, 23, of West Covina, denied urinating in the bush and became belligerent and aggressive toward the officers. The man’s slurred speech was noted by police, who also noticed him staggering as he walked. Mr. Orozco admitted to drinking at Piano Piano and was arrested for public intoxication.
