Miller is right: fireworks are a health hazard
Dear editor:
Thank you for the Viewpoint by Char Miller [“Let’s clear the air: fireworks endanger our health,” July 12]. The fireworks this year really were a health hazard. And who is most affected? The elderly, young children, anyone with breathing challenges, pets, and those who are either living on the streets or in homes without air conditioning. We should insist that the county commissioners restrict the number of fireworks, especially in a week when we are already experiencing extreme heat and poor air quality. The photos of the LA County basin on July 5th should be a warning to all of us. Thank you.
