A warning about increased credit card fees
Dear editor:
On my recent vacation to Ohio it was brought to my attention that restaurants in that area are adding on to the tab a credit card charge ranging from 2% to 4%. On Saturday, September 29 at a nearby Mexican restaurant in Pomona, the same policy was in effect. I have been told the credit card companies have raised the discount charge to businesses, thusly bringing about credit card charges. The cost for dining out has escalated more than the cost of living; a diner in the future will have to carry several hundred dollar bills to pay the tab and tip. I also suggest not charging the tip, pay only cash for the tip as tips charged on credit cards will be caught in the credit card discount charge.
