Mohamed Abousalem was inaugurated as the third president of Keck Graduate Institute on February 13 at Scripps College’s Garrison Theater.
“I invite all our faculty, staff, students, alumni, partners, and friends to engage today with the KGI of tomorrow and help us take this great institution from its youth to maturity with intention and dedication,” said Abousalem said. “Together, let’s embrace our future with enthusiasm, positivity, and intent. I am confident that our greatest accomplishments lie ahead, and I look forward to celebrating each and every one of them with you.”

The ceremony also included recognition of KGI faculty members Steven Casper, Christy Eskes, Derick Han, Anna Hickerson, Loren Martin, Joshua Morris, Angelika Niemz, Maxim Polonsky, Talia Puzantian, and Animesh Ray, who were named endowed professors.
