Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School’s girls basketball team recently completed an historic season, finishing 13-7, and compiling a seven game win streak along the way, both school records.
“This is not just a good year for girls’ basketball; this is a historic one,” said OLA Athletic Director David Higuera. “The Lady Raiders have shattered expectations and school records alike, putting together a season that will be talked about for years to come.
“This team didn’t get here on talent alone; they got here through tenacity. Through togetherness. Night after night, they out-hustled and out-worked every opponent they faced. When it mattered most, they competed with a grit and a unity that is rare, and it showed. Their hard work was recognized beyond just the scoreboard.”
The team also finished second in the OLA Basketball Tournament.
“These accomplishments represent far more than a strong season: they mark a milestone for girls’ athletics at OLA,” Higuera said. “Highlighting their success would shine a well‑deserved spotlight on a group of student‑athletes who have worked tirelessly to elevate their program and bring pride to Claremont!”
