Pomona College will a forum — open to students, faculty and staff — at 2 p.m. Friday to discuss the proposed partnership initiative between Claremont Graduate University and the college and answer questions. The informal “coffee talk” will be led by Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Pomona, Jeff Roth, alongside Executive Director of Strategic Innovation, KJ Fagen.
Last spring, Pomona entered negotiations with CGU about an acquisition to alleviate the graduate school’s financial instability after operating at a deficit for more than 10 years. Both schools announced negotiations were underway in December 2025, and Pomona has since hosted various forums to address student and community concerns.
The discussion will take place in Cafe 47 at the Smith Campus Center.
Both Pomona College and CGU have launched websites for more information regarding the partnership initiative at pomona.edu/partnership-initiative, and cgu.edu/partnership-initiative.
