CUSD holds annual organizational meeting tonight Dec. 15
The return of Claremont resident Sam Mowbray to the Claremont Unified School District board dais and the board’s annual organizational meeting highlight tonight’s board meeting at the Richard S. Kirkendall Education Center.
Mr. Mowbray was one of 2 winners in this year’s board member election that also featured the successful re-election of current board member Hilary LaConte. His appointment tonight will mark his official return to the board after serving from 1993-2005.
The annual organizational meeting consists of the election of board president, board vice president, board clerk and board secretary. The board will also vote on the calendar of regular meetings for the next board year, authorize specific personnel to sign off on district matters and designate a representative for the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association (LACSTA).
Discussion on the superintendent selection process, district reorganization, budget and planned improvements for the Local Education Agency plan on special education will be held at tonight’s meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
