CUSD board holds two meetings to outline clarify fall semester
Parents, caregivers and students looking for information on the upcoming school year are invited to two Claremont Unified School District Board of Education virtual community meetings taking place Thursday, July 30 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The Zoom meetings will include an overview on instruction, including the three options for student online education, special education, mental health, childcare, athletics and extracurricular/co-curricular activities. Questions will be taken following the presentation.
The meeting for families of students entering TK through sixth grades will run from 9 to 11 a.m.
Families of students entering seventh through 12th grades should tune in between 2 and 4 p.m.
A link to the Zoom meetings will be posted on CUSD’s website, https://www.cusd.claremont.edu/ by 7:30 a.m. July 30.
On July 15 the CUSD board voted unanimously to heed county health directives and go to an online only model for its fall semester, which begins September 2. The vote followed more than two hours of public comment, much of it supportive of the anticipated move and some vociferously against.
