Fog slowly rolls into Claremont: Foggy mornings are in the forecast as the inversion layer from the west drifts far inland to the Claremont area at the Base Line Road exit at the 210 freeway. But high temperatures will still warm up to the 70s by the afternoon. There is also a warm-up in the forecast with temperatures in the mid-80s by week’s end. Claremont resident LaLoie J. Johnson, better known as “Loie,” died October 18. She was 86 years old.

When Aaron Fate was in high school he took advantage of a program which allowed seniors to take classes at Citrus College for extra credit. However, all of the academic programs were full so he enrolled in an elective introduction to criminal justice.

The Claremont Museum of Art, long a well-loved local treasure, is about to expand on that regional renown with new gallery space and exhibitions, all spearheaded by a dynamic new director, Adrienne Luce.
