Eldred Frank Tubbs, a longtime resident of Claremont, died March 21. He was born March 31, 1924, in Buffalo, New York.

Elizabeth Ann (Whitcomb) Ambord died peacefully on April 4.

Sara Noelle Liston, 68, died May 1 at her Corvallis, Oregon home.

Lorraine (“Lori”) Donovan McCarthy, a 63-year resident of Claremont, died peacefully at home on April 17 with her family by her side. She was 92.

Wayne R. Cox Jr., “Guy” to family, “Wally” to friends, died peacefully April 6 at age 75 surrounded by family and friends.

Edward Brant was born August 1, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio. He died April 21 in Rancho Cucamonga.

Ardon Alger was born on April 17, 1946, in Whittier, California. His interest in photography was apparent by high school, where he became the photo editor of the yearbook.

John David Alexander III, 62, of Bomoseen, Vermont, died peacefully at home on May 3, 2022, after a valiant fight against head and neck cancer.

Great-grandmother, 31-year Claremont McKenna College employee. Mary Margaret Schuster Anderson was born April 3, 1949 in Montebello, California. She died on Monday, April 10, 2023 at age 74.

Virginia (Samples) Gillette, loving wife, and mother of three daughters, died at the age of 96 on Thursday, March 23.

Jo Ann Toothaker, of Claremont, died peacefully on Sunday, March 19. Jo Ann was born in Upland on August 16, 1934. She was raised in Ontario and graduated from Chaffey High School in 1952.

John “Jack” Monroe died Friday, March 31 at home in Claremont. He had been in declining health for the past six months.

Dr. Raymond Kay Brown, a 20-year resident of Pilgrim Place retirement community in Claremont, died March 14 at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, three days after his 87th birthday.

Roger Alan Shervington died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of March 17 at Claremont Care Center in Pomona at the age of 74.

James M. Chick, loved by his wife Karen Reza Chick; his daughter Angela “Angie” Anderson (spouse Mark); his son James “Jimmy” Chick (spouse Christina); his five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a wonderful universe of friends, died peacefully March 7 after an extended struggle with dementia.
