Claremont Police Blotter
Tuesday, September 12: Claremont Police Department officers were called to Larkin Park, 660 N. Mountain Ave., at 2:14 p.m. after being alerted that two people were fighting. Upon arrival they allegedly saw a 40-year-old woman from Upland hitting a man with her fists. After separating the pair, police ran a background check on the woman and learned she had a protective order to stay away from the man. Officers said the victim had visible injuries to his face, so police arrested her for felony domestic violence. She was taken to the Claremont jail, booked, and held for court.
Police are looking for a couple of presumably very pleasant smelling suspects who reportedly stole $4,000 worth of deodorant from the Vons supermarket at 550 E. Baseline Rd. At 1:34 p.m. an employee called police to report the pair had entered the location and apparently left without paying for the merchandise. Police reported that very similar crimes occurred recently in both Upland and San Dimas.
