Election Day is here!

Well it is finally here. Perhaps the most anticipated Election Day in our nation’s history has arrived and California voters have until 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time to cast their ballots.

Claremont has four vote centers—Taylor Hall at 1775 N. Indian Hill Boulevard; Claremont Helen Renwick Library, meeting room, 208 N. Harvard Ave.; El Roble Intermediate School, multipurpose room, 665 N. Mountain Ave.; and Claremont Center for Spiritual Living, Holmes Social Hall, 509 S. College Ave.

If one has filled out a mail-in ballot it can be dropped off at any vote center. Also any registered voter can cast a ballot using the new digital touch screen balloting boxes.

As results come in, the COURIER will be reporting on local races including two seats on the Claremont Unified School District Board of Education, two Claremont City Council seats and one representative to the Citrus Community College Board of Trustees. Additionally Claremont voters, along with several other area cities, will be deciding the fate of Measure Y which would raise property taxes to pay for extensive improvements to the Citrus Community College campus.
