Cooler summer days are upon us
Thursday may actually be one of the coolest days of the summer this year. With a high temperature that may not reach even 80 degrees, Claremont is in a unique weather pattern usually saved for springtime. And we may not see the temperature hit the 90 degree mark for a couple of weeks. Want to get away? The Glendora Ridge Road is open offering excellent views of the San Gabriel Mountain range during the 21 mile route. You can pick up the road at the west end of Baldy Village, which twists and turns down 4000 feet dropping you off in Glendora. The road is narrow, so be careful to give room to oncoming traffic, especially bike riders who enjoy the challenge of the elevation change. COURIER photo/Peter Weinberger
