Pomona College, citizens settle museum lawsuit
The city and Pomona College have settled with two groups who filed complaints over the college’s Museum of Art project.
The groups, Citizens to Save College Avenue and Claremonters for Honest Governance, agreed to drop their complaints entirely and refrain from disrupting museum planning and construction.
As part of the settlement, the city agreed to develop a College Avenue Historic District, provide resident trainings on public meeting participation and develop a “mitigation measure hotline.” Pomona College has agreed to add landscaping and restrict parking on the upcoming museum’s loading dock, as well as restoring toe curbs around the site.
More on this story will be in next week’s edition of the COURIER.
