Diann Ring, former Claremont mayor and City Council member, died at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center the morning of March 2 from complications resulting from a recent fall.

“On behalf of my family, I want to thank all of you for the many messages, phone calls and other expressions of support and encouragement during these difficult past few weeks,” her son Rob wrote in a Facebook post. “We have felt the healing hand of your many offered prayers and good vibrations sent our way … are deeply grateful.”

A full account of Ring’s life will appear in the future edition of the Courier.

Publisher’s note: It just seemed like yesterday I was talking with Diann about various issues concerning Claremont. She spent a lifetime supporting the people in a city she loved and truly cared about. And that support never wavered for decades. The Courier staff sends our deepest condolences to the Ring family.  She was a true champion. — Peter Weinberger
