The Friends of the Claremont Helen Renwick Library’s On the Same Page Committee will welcome award-winning author and illustrator Brian Fies to the Alexander Hughes Community Center, 1700 N. Danbury Rd., at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4.

Fies, author of “A Fire Story,” will share his personal account of the 2017 northern California wildfires that resulted in the destruction of nearly 2,000 homes — including his — in Santa Rosa at this free and open to the public event. Fies will also speak about the rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of the blaze.
