Candlelight staff says goodbye after 37 years – photos and video

Everyone in the building knew this day was coming. After 259 performances spanning 37 years, the Candlelight Pavilion was closing, and the last performance was on Sunday. The Bollinger family did not want to disappoint, as a packed house was treated to a very personal performance as most of the Bollinger family watched from the rear balcony.

Even though many felt a loss over Candlelight’s closing, the afternoon was festive, with an enthusiastic crowd that showed tremendous support. When the show was over, staff joined the performers on stage to say their final goodbye. The Bollingers showed their generosity by paying for everyone’s food and drink, while encouraging them to leave their dinner’s cost to the servers. Appreciation and gratitude filled the room.

As Mick Bollinger said during the show, “Mindy (Teuber) and I know how to throw a heck of a party!” He was right.

See the COURIER’s complete coverage, including a full story and video, on Monday.
