Champions for Children Gala to be held this month

The West End Auxiliary of Children’s Fund is holding its Champions for Children Gala on March 18 at The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Ontario, 1222 N. Vineyard Ave.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and will feature a live and silent auction, music and recognition of the nonprofit’s Champions for Children honorees: Sue Ovitt, Gary Ovitt and James Q. Hammond. The keynote speaker for the evening will be former Kansas City Chiefs running back Christian Okoye, also known as the “Nigerian nightmare.”

Tickets are $150 and can be purchased www.westendauxiliary.org or by contacting event chairperson Linda Rice at (909) 451-3255. Visit the nonprofit’s website or www.childrensfund.org to see how you can help West End Auxiliary support children in need “to have the bright future that they deserve,” according to the nonprofit.

All proceeds from this event benefit Children’s Fund, which serves abused, neglected, and impoverished children throughout San Bernardino County and eastern Los Angeles County. The organization assists over 60,000 children every year and the need for assistance has never been greater.
