CHS relay team breaks another school record

The Claremont High girls varsity track team broke the school’s distance medley relay record at the 63rd annual Mount San Antonio College Relays.

The team of juniors Denise Chen and L’Mio Edwards along with freshmen Isla Bulmer and Annika Graham-Scanlon competed in the April 15 event’s invitational division and finished in second place behind Del Norte with a time of 11:58.85, shattering the CHS record by about 10 seconds.

Earlier in the day Isla took third in the girls seeded 800-meter race with a time of 2:15.62. L’Mio also came in third in the invitational 800, at 2:11.65, missing the school record by a hundredth of a second. The previous day, Denise finished eighth in the invitational 3,200 at 11:02.48.
