Claremont news from the city manager’s office

Microbrewery Permit Approved
City staff approved a business permit for Claremont
Craft Ales, a microbrewery with a tasting room
to be located at 1420 N. Claremont Boulevard, 204C.
The business is within the Business/Industrial Park
(B/IP) zoning district.
Claremont Craft Ales will be producing fresh
hand-crafted beers on-site, and residents may purchase
the packaged/bottled products to take home.
During posted open hours of the tasting room, customers
are permitted to visit the brewery to try the
products at its source, and to discover how they are
made. The tasting room is intended as a mode of discovery
for the customers to find out what products
the brewery offers, see how they are produced, and
taste the various brews.
Claremont Craft Ales owners Simon Brown and
Emily Moultrie anticipate a summer opening.
Utility work on Foothill Boulevard
Golden State Water Company is set to begin work
this week on Foothill Boulevard to coordinate the installation
of fire services for the Harvey Mudd Teaching
and Learning Building Project.
The proposed work requires trenching and utility installation
across Foothill Boulevard, east of Dartmouth
Avenue. Foothill Boulevard will be reduced to one lane
in each direction during the course of the project.
The work is anticipated to be completed by the end
of April. Drivers should consider alternative routes
or expect some delays.
