CPD awarded $94K safety grant

The Claremont Police Department was recently awarded some $94,000 in state and federal grant funds to be used for deterring unsafe driving behaviors.

The grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will allow CPD to increase patrols throughout the community. It also will fund traffic safety programs such as increased DUI checkpoints, focused operations on cell phone distracted drivers, bicycle and pedestrian safety enforcement operations, educational presentations on traffic safety, enforcement operations on modified vehicles and street racing, and others.

The grant program runs through September 2023. For more information visit ci.claremont.ca.us.
