CUCC hosts Claremont Chorale, choir for ‘Messiah’
The Claremont Chorale will be joined by the Claremont Concert Choir at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 4 to perform the Christmas portion of the holiday masterwork, Handel’s “Messiah,” at Claremont United Church of Christ, 233 Harrison Ave.
The concert will feature a chamber orchestra and solos from Scripps College seniors Amelia Huchley and Jeannette Hunker and junior Larkin Barnard-Bahn. Vocalists Emily Thebaut, a mezzo-soprano, Jonathan Lacayo, tenor, and Alphonzo Hicks, baritone, will also perform. The audience is invited to join the choirs in singing the “Hallelujah” chorus to conclude the program.
Messiah is the second collaborative show this season between the Claremont Chorale and the Claremont Colleges Joint Music Program. General admission begins at $20 and tickets are available at claremontchorale.org/concerts. Claremont Colleges students and staff are free with college ID.
