Foothill Family Shelter taking Thanksgiving basket donations

The Foothill Family Shelter is calling on the community to help them make this year’s Thanksgiving memorable for families in need, either due to COVID-19 or other personal financial struggles.

The shelter is asking for Thanksgiving baskets which can include one, some or all of the holiday fixings the organization is requesting.

Foothill Family Shelter recommends baskets contain the following:

• One $20 grocery store gift card or two $10 cards (activated and usable at either Vons, Grocery Outlet or Smart & Final)
• One box of stuffing
• One can of cranberry sauce
• One box of instant potatoes
• One can of candied yams
• Two cans of cut green beans
• Two cans of corn
• One can of turkey gravy
• One oven roasting pan and one roasting bag (turkey-sized)
• One box of cake, cookie or brownie mix

All baskets should be dropped off at the shelter, at 1501 West Ninth Street, Suite D in Upland, by Wednesday, November 10 at 12 p.m. General pantry items can be donated after this deadline.

The shelter will also accept cash donations that will be used to purchase Thanksgiving meals and meet other holiday needs. A recommended donation of $40 will cover a Thanksgiving meal, and any monetary donations, such as checks, can be mailed to the shelter directly.
