Ghanaian West African Music Ensemble performance on Monday
Experience Pomona College’s Ghanaian West African Music Ensemble, led by director Nani Agbeli, on Monday, November 29 within the Bridges Hall of Music.
The performance is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. and will feature the college’s ensemble and also specials guests, the Volta Drum Dance. The performers are a diverse group from around the Los Angeles area and are “dedicated to preserving and honoring the thousands of years of these cultural traditions,” a flyer read.
“Nani Agbeli leads the ensemble in an explosion of the best Ghanaian traditional music and dance,” it continued. “Although they come from different walks of life, they are united by the intricate rhythms and mesmerizing dance moves of Ghanaian traditional music and dance.”
