Claremont High School

Baseball (9-15)
Claremont fell, 9-1, at home against Ayala on April 20, then hosted Alta Loma Tuesday and lost, 4-2. The Pack capped the season at Alta Loma home after press time Thursday.

Softball (5-13)
Claremont welcomed Colony with an 8-4 victory on April 19, but lost to Bonita, 5-0, the next day at home. Results from recent doubleheaders: Claremont lost twice at home against Glendora on April 22, 8-0 and 3-1. The team then hosted Ayala twice Tuesday, losing 6-0 and 10-0. The team capped its season by hosting Alta Loma after press time Thursday.

Boys golf (9-4)
Claremont beat Ayala, 201-209, on April 19, but the Bulldogs stunned the Pack the following day, 218-221. Results from Monday’s Walnut Tournament were not made available to the Courier. The boys left Marshall Canyon Tuesday with a 204-242 win over Alta Loma. Alta Loma then hosted the Wolfpack after press time Thursday.

Boys volleyball (23-7)
Upland snapped Claremont’s shutout streak with a 3-0 win April 20. The boys began another streak at home against Bellflower the following day, winning 3-0. The number one seeded Wolfpack hosted wild card winners Lancaster after press time Thursday in the first round of the CIF-Southern Section Division IV playoffs. Results are at cifss.org.

Boys tennis (13-1)
Claremont overcame Bonita, 14-4, on April 19, then beat Alta Loma, 15-3, the following day. Against Diamond Bar Monday, the Pack won, 14-4. Results from Palomares League prelims and finals are here.

The team will learn its California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section playoff fate at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1 when brackets go live at cifss.org. The team will be in the Open Division, Coach Kathy Settles said.

Results from Thursday’s Ojai Tournament will appear in next week’s edition.

Boys (6-2) and girls (4-4) swim and dive
Both teams beat Alta Loma at home on April 19, the boys 93.5-75.5, and the girls 91-72. Claremont was at Mount San Antonio College Tuesday and Thursday for Palomares League prelims and finals. Full results are on the Meet Mobile application.

The Webb Schools

Baseball (6-6-1)
Pacifica Christian Orange County beat Webb at home, 7-4, on April 20. Wednesday’s crucial game at Tarbut V’Torah was rescheduled to after press time Thursday. Webb need a win to make the postseason.

Boys golf (10-1)
The team hosted Western Christian April 20 and came away with a 207-219 win, then beat Samueli Academy on Monday, 217-257. Results from Wednesday’s game at Western Christian and Thursday’s at Avalon will appear in next week’s Courier.

San Joaquin League prelims and finals are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday May 2 and 3. Visit webb.org/athletics for location details.

Boys volleyball (3-14)
The April 20 game at Hamilton was canceled. The Gauls welcomed Rio Hondo Prep April 21 and were shutout, 3-0, to cap the season. The Gauls placed fourth in the Academy League with a record of 2-6.

Boys tennis (12-0)
The boys beat Western Christian, 16-2, on April 20, then did the same to Mark Keppel the following day. Webb shutout Tarbut V’Torah at home Monday, 18-0. San Joaquin League prelims and finals were held Tuesday and Thursday at Webb.

The team will learn its CIF-Southern Section postseason fate when Division IV brackets go live at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1 at cifss.org.

Coed badminton (4-8)
Webb couldn’t catch a break this week. It hosted Rowland and lost, 16-5, April 20, then were handed successive 18-3 losses at Diamond Bar April 21, and Monday at Wilson.

The Gauls cap the season Friday at home versus Chino Hills. First serve is at 3:30 p.m.

Boys (0-2) and girls (2-1) swim and dive
San Joaquin League prelims were scrapped Monday. Finals at Webb were held Wednesday. Full results are at swimphone.com.
