Hot air brings cool sunsets

Our high temperature was 94 in Claremont on Monday, and by 5 p.m., it was still 90 degrees outside. So much for normal fall temperatures. It’s happened so often now, it comes to no one’s surprise how hot our weather can become…during anytime of the year. This hot air will hover over Southern California for most of the week, as it will only continue to get warmer. By Wednesday, the afternoon should be hovering right around the century mark of 100 degrees. The good news is by the weekend, highs will be closer to normal in the mid-80s, with continued sunny skies and low humidity. The long term forecast has a cooling trend into October, with no heat waves in sight. But you probably can wait to pull your jacket out of the closet. COURIER photo/Peter Weinberger
