LA County Fair ready to return on May 3

It’s that time of year again. The Los Angeles County Fair opens up at 5 p.m. Friday, May 3, at the Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Ave., Pomona. Opening day tickets are $10 online at

This year’s fair, themed “Stars, Stripes and Fun,” runs through Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on May 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27. Fairgoers can expect lively fair fun such as rides and games, concerts, food and beverages, special events, horticulture and livestock competitions, The Marketplace, and shopping opportunities all returning.

    Save on admission with the following ways:

  • Those who donate blood or platelets through April 29 at a participating Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles blood drive can receive a pair of tickets valid from May 3 to May 12. Visit to learn more or to donate.
  • LA County Day is May 4 and residents can purchase discounted $8 tickets by using the code “LACOUNTY” (case sensitive) at checkout until 11:59 p.m. May 3 at
  • Pomona Day is May 9 and La Verne Day is May 10 with $1 tickets for such residents when they enter their zip codes through 11:59 p.m. May 8 and 9.
  • On Thursdays May 9, 16 and 23, one person who brings five cans of food from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. can get in free. Goods will be donated to local food pantries.
  • American Automobile Association members can secure tickets for $9 on May 9.
  • Participating Superior Grocers stores have $16 adult and $11 child any day tickets as well as a $40 carnival package available for purchase. Participating Farmer Boys restaurants also have the adult and children’s admission deal while O’Reilly Auto Parts stores offer $16 adult and $12 child any day admission at select stores. Foothill Transit riders can access an $18 any day admission ticket.
  • . Seniors over age 60 can receive discounted single-day admission every day. Online admission is $12, $15 at the gate. Veterans can also claim a $9 admission deal valid for Memorial Day by visiting or
