City of Claremont, the American Legion Keith Powell Post 78, and Friends of the Oak Park Cemetery will hold a free and open to the public Memorial Day service at Oak Park Cemetery, 410 Sycamore Ave., at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 27, to commemorate United States service members. The ceremony will include military traditions with remarks from local community organizations. For more information, email

More free and public Memorial Day services nearby include a 10 a.m. concert by Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G St., Ontario; a 10 a.m. service at 5443 B Street, Chino; an 11 a.m. event at Veterans Hall, 1550 Bonita Ave., La Verne; and a 6 p.m. ceremony at Memorial Garden, 5111 Benito St., Montclair.

City offices and the post office will be closed in observance of the federal holiday.
