Police arrest 16 men in sex work sting

A dual agency sex work enforcement detail netted 16 solicitation arrests along Indian Hill Boulevard near the 10 Freeway on Friday, January 27.

Claremont police and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office Bureau of Investigation conducted the “sting” along Indian Hill Boulevard near the 10 Freeway, adjacent to the three hotels which have become magnets for sex work.

“The Claremont Police Department has received multiple complaints from residents, business owners, and passerby’s regarding prostitution in the immediate area,” according to a CPD news release.

In the sting, four undercover officers posing as sex workers were allegedly solicited by the men who sought to engage in sexual acts. The 16 were subsequently arrested by additional undercover officers and charged with a misdemeanor solicitation. They were booked and later released with a citations to appear at Pomona Superior Court.

Claremont police identified the 16 men as: Arnulfo Amaro, 44, of Pomona; Pabitra Sardar, 30 of Pomona; Carlos Guadarram Dominguez, 22, of Upland; Otto Angel Perez, 49, of San Bernardino; Michael Reyes, 44, of Upland; Austin Kindred, 34 of Hesperia; Matthew Munoz, 26 of Huntington Beach; Jose Saldana, 22, of Chino; Narciso Garcia Vasquez, 35, of La Puente, Osmin Zelaya Rivera, 26, of Pomona; Gordon Nichols, 41, of Rancho Cucamonga; Giovanni Velasco Mendoza, 31, of Riverside; Benito Yanez, 74, of Las Vegas; Apolinar Escobar Roblero, 40, of Pomona; Rigoberto Castro, 33, of West Covina; and Victor Gonzalez, 31, of Baldwin Park.
