Claremont moves with public hearing on water purchase
The city of Claremont will host a public meeting on Wednesday, December 18 to address the environmental impact report (EIR) for a potential acquisition of the Claremont water system. The meeting takes place at the City Council Chamber from 6 to 9 p.m.
On November 6, the Claremont City Council directed city administrators to use $350,000 in city funds to prep financial and legal documents needed for the potential purchase of Claremont’s water system, including an EIR for a possible water system takeover. City officials are now seeking public comment as to the scope and content of the to be analyzed in that environmental report. Comments must be received by Monday, December 23.
