Barnes & Noble book fair to benefit CEF, Claremont schools

Barnes & Noble is hosting a book fair at the Montclair Plaza location this Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8, with 20 percent of proceeds to benefit the Claremont Educational Foundation (CEF). The fair will continue online Monday through Friday, December 13 by visiting http://www.barnesandnoble.com/bookfairs/.  Just enter the CEF ID code 11202447 at checkout.

A number of fun activities will be held in-store this weekend, including storytime with Claremont principals from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday and crafts with Girl Scout Troop 109-4 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Saturday and crafts with Girl Scout Troop 5364 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Also on tap are performances by the CHS Chamber Singers at 2 p.m. and by the CHS Jazz Combo at 3 p.m. on Sunday and a Poetry Slam from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Saturday, December 7 storytime schedule is as follows: Sycamore’s Amy Stanger at 11 a.m.; Oakmont’s Stacey Stewart at 11:30 a.m.; Vista del Valle’s Dave Stewart at noon; Mountain View’s Clara Dehmer at 12:30 p.m. and Claremont High School’s Brett O’Connor at 2 p.m. The Sunday, December 8 storytime schedule features Chaparral’s Julie Olesniewicz at noon and Danbury’s Steve Hamilton at 1 p.m.

Fifteen percent of snack purchases will also benefit CEF, with choices including Chaparral’s “Snickering Roadrunners Brownie,” Condit’s “Condor’s Scavenger Cookie,” Danbury’s “Fiery Dragon Cookies,” Mountain View’s “Stacking Mustang Oreo Stack,” Oakmont’s “Owl Rice Krispy Treats,” Sumner’s “Dolphin Slushie,” Sycamore’s “Sycamore Leaf Cupcakes,”  Vista’s “Snowy Viking Blizzard Frapp,” Claremont High’s “Wolfpack Full Moon Frapp” and El Roble’s “Black Panthers Frapp.”

CEF invites the whole community to come out and show their support for Claremont schools while getting started on their holiday shopping!
