Claremont police need public’s help in finding sexual assault suspect

Police are requesting the public’s help in finding a man involved in the sexual assault of a juvenile on Friday night between 10:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. The 12-year-old girl was home alone when the man reportedly gained access to her apartment and proceeded to physically and sexually assault her. It is unknown how the suspect was able to enter the home, but there are no signs of forced entry, according to Lieutenant Mike Ciszek. Officers have not released the location of the incident to protect the victim.

Lt. Ciszek says the department has been following several leads, but is expanding its search to the general public with a computer-generated image of the suspect in hopes of finding further information. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male about 30 years old, approximately 5’8’’ or 5’9’’ with a medium build, blue eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing a colored baseball hat and flannel shirt and was clean-shaven. Any information should be reported to the Claremont Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (909) 399-5420 or the on-duty watch commander at (909) 399-5411.
