Couple arrested for stolen auto

A couple traveling through Claremont Tuesday afternoon were arrested after being stopped for grand theft auto. Officers ran a vehicle license plate check on a silver Ford Taurus near Base Line Road and Kemper Avenue just after 3 p.m. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Costa Mesa. Claremont Police stopped the car and arrested Christopher Bridwell, 36, above, of Aliso Viejo for grand theft auto. Mr. Bridwell’s passenger, Marjorie Saylor, 29, of Upland, was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Both are currently being held at the Claremont city jail. More information as the story develops. COURIER photo/Steven Felschuneff
