On Saturday, October 25 Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride took a detour through Claremont and ended with a Disney DUI. Kaprish Thomas, dressed as Minnie Mouse with ears and all, was driving around 2:30 a.m. when officers witnessed the vehicle make a right turn on a red light near Indian Hill and San Jose. Police conducted a traffic stop and what they saw warranted more than just an E-ticket. Officers determined the 25-year-old driver was under the influence of alcohol and her passenger, riding shotgun, was holding an approximately 1-year-old baby on her lap. According to Lieutenant Mike Ciszek, Ms. Thomas told officers they were returning from partying, and in a hurry as they’d just picked up the baby from the sitter. Ms. Thomas was arrested for DUI and released at 8:25 a.m. on $5,000 bail. The passenger and her child were given a FastPass and picked up by someone with a car seat.
